Search Engine Keywords Ranking – How does it work
Search Engine Keywords Ranking and how does it work :
SEO keyword ranking is considered to be a very important factor if one has to grow his online business using organic and free traffic.
In earlier days, precisely in the ’90s search engines could easily be manipulated. For ranking high on search engines, one just had to add a particular phrase for which they wanted to rank, as many times as possible on their site’s page.
This was a kind of contest between affiliate marketers who would add the search phrase more times and get ranked high above the others. Obtaining Search engine keywords ranking was much easier.
This was a real challenge for the search engines as well since the pages that were ranking high in searches, most often did not contain meaningful content. It meant those who could add more keywords to their site had more visibility not minding if content made sense.
This led to a spammy search environment and a really poor user experience. Black hat SEO was the term used here.
Making Changes To Search engines Keyword Rankings Algorithms :
A search engine algorithm is a complex system used to retrieve data from a search engine's index based on certain parameters and instantly deliver the best possible results for queries.
In earlier days, engines used keywords as parameters and when a lot of people started stuffing keywords for higher rankings, search engines changed their algorithm around This came out of the desire for search engines to improve the old method of ranking. Today, over 200 different metrics are being used by Google, for instance, to decide which site ranks higher.
The search engines now keep on changing the algorithms so that only relevant sites can rank high. Just Focusing on Keywords is no longer enough.
So as to wrestle the technique of keyword stuffing (the old method of piling as many keywords as possible on a page), Google devised the use of links in ranking sites more effectively.
With the use of links, Google was able to determine which website provided the most user experience. When a site contains more links pointing to it more than the others, Google was informed that the website is of higher quality than its counterparts.
The idea with the links and ranking is that nobody would prefer to link to a site full of spam. And that did work, the idea! So, links replaced keywords.
A lot of website owners, on discovering the vitality of links, began to source through any means possible to get so many links pointing to their websites.
Some even had to offer payments to people just to have their site linked, so that for a single site, you’d be finding thousands of links in a day. This drove into something that would informally be referred to as the “link building industry.”
Soon also, owners of websites realized that adding up text links with phrases they were intending to rank for on Google was the modern replacement for keyword stuffing, they shifted to it as well. By piling up text links bearing keywords for their ranking, they stood at a greater advantage.
But this went out of Google’s big picture of modern ranking, as manipulation of search engine algorithm came into play. Low-quality websites full of spam, by all means, began to throttle themselves to the top search.
How The Search Engine keywords Ranking, SEO & Algorithm further Changed
Google cleared off the initial of several enormous changes made to the algorithm. Past few years and now, Google continues reviewing and reforming SEO tactics and methods of ranking for various keywords.
Currently, it may be okay to say Google’s got its eyes opened against defrauders. No more keyword stuffing, paying for links or using other poor SEO tricks. Once Google gets a feeling that someone’s attempting to manipulate its algorithm, they could actually penalize the person’s site by closing it up.
Google’s out, really, for defrauders, having AI, thousands of supercomputers and sites installed almost in all parts of the world, looking out for cheats, who do not want to crookedly get to the top.
How Often Does Google Change Their Algorithm?
This happens over four hundred times a year! With this consistency, it is so difficult to manipulate something. It is the intention of Google to have site owners pursuing to make their contents the best, not on pursuing search engine algorithms.
It should be brought to the notice of website owners that Google actually tracks users' behaviour to their sites. It monitors if people just hurry in and out of the site or if they actually stay to read what’s on the site.
Also, Google cares about how often you review your contents; whether you never do, or you occasionally do
Do We Still Need To Carry Out Keyword Research?
The answer to this question lies between yes and no. As an affiliate marketer myself, I rely on some keyword research tools like Jaaxy for finding Long tail keywords.
Privacy changes have made it very difficult to track the keywords searched for and those that are not. As of 2012, because there were a lot of services that provided less competition and yet in-demand keywords, searching for keywords was that simple.
It should be brought to your notice that Google has its own keywords research tool, as well as Wordtracker.com (which is a paid service). However, these keyword researchers tend to no more be useful as they used to be.
Your Focus Should Be On “Long Tail” Keywords
It’s more like a waste of time to be ranking for a search phrase as “Home appliances”—especially if you’re a growing affiliate marketer.
Let the bigger guys keep handling that!
Don’t think of how big a corporation is. You shouldn’t juggle with such an overly competitive word when there are others to look out for.
What most people apply today is the “long-tail search term”, where the search term is over two words. So rather than targetting “Home Appliances”, You can use “the energy-efficient home appliances”. and never try to stuff your article even with Longtail Keywords.
Long-tail search term comprises a fraction of search engine traffic!
How To Use Keywords To Improve A Websites SEO
It is just not one article or another, the whole website must be optimized for search engines. Certainly, finding long tails keywords and writing great unique content on that keyword is part of the game. I use the following strategy for search engine optimization.
- Find a longtail keyword using Jaaxy, the best but simple keyword research tool. Once I am through with my Keyword research, I try to write the whole article around that keyword in mind but not overutilizing same in my article. (If you have found this article in Google search, Please mention your exact query in the comment section, I mean what you searched for).
- Create a blueprint for your website. In case you are launching a new website, brainstorming should start with finding a good domain name and niche ideas. I learned all from this affiliate marketing course.
- In order to fully optimize the content, the Longtail Keywords must be included in “meta tags”, the article's title, and are then used at least once or twice in the content of the site. Yo
For example, if you use such a search term as “weight loss ” in the content of your website, you’ll find that on searching for the same phrase on any search engine, your own website is likely to appear in so many pages away from the first or second research page.
This is because a lot of people have already written on the same phrase, hence its competitiveness. To rank high using a highly competitive search word would certainly take so much time.
You’ll discover, on the other hand, that the use of long-tail keywords now performs the magic! With that, you could get your site ranked at the top, driving huge traffic to your site.
May think of a keyword like "How to lose belly fat fast" and you may have all the chance to rank high.
And the good thing is, once Google finds your site trusted, they tend to help it generate more free traffic and rank it high above other related search words! Yep!
The most important thing to you now should be writing interesting, informative, and/or entertaining articles for your site, rather than chasing which Keywords are right or wrong.
The more your articles, the more long-tail keywords you rank, and through this more traffic are generated to your site in one day. The larger your site becomes the larger your growth.
SEO & Keyword Rankings in the Future
In the nearest future, the ranking of keywords and other SEO tactics would matter less. It is Google’s intention to provide people with the best of your queries, and when this doesn’t happen, people will less use Google, which will be a slack down for the search engine. But if this happens, Google would be able to stand in business and be able, even, to generate more money for themselves.
Over time keyword rankings and other forms of SEO will become less important. Ultimately, Google and other search engines desire one thing. They want people who are using their search engine to find helpful, relevant, and high-quality results. That way, people will keep using their search engine which means, they can charge advertisers more money!
